I looked at the last entry on my blog....and now I feel old  =)

Thursday, August 05, 2004

landies and gents, I am now kicking ass at 3 mbps from my lovely apartment in "suburban" singapore.  Pictures will be up tomorrow or, if I'm too inebriated from the party on Friday nite, sometime this weekend  =)

Oh and btw, happy National Day to all Singaporeans out there.  This coming Monday, Singapore will have been independent for 39 years.  Next years' National Day celebration (the 40th) should be something to write home about.  Everyone goes the extra mile to celebrate years ending with a zero.  No exception here, I guess.  haha

Quote of the week (emailed to me by a friend):

I have yet not been able to answer ... the great question that has never been answered : What does a woman want ?
Sigmund Freud

Looks like even Freud couldn't figure them out  =).  I'll bet the feeling is mutual though.  I just can't find a female psychologist quoting the same thing about men.  haha =)

But you know if there's one thing I've learned from being a man, its that you have to lose your life to gain it.  Be happy with what you've got, and don't ask nor expect anything more.  God will provide all that you need in good time, whether it be something as simple as a place to live and food to eat, or as complicated as a romantic relationship.  It all comes from the same source folks.

Things are going well on the Singapore front.  I have a new apartment now, and I'll be finished with moving in tomorrow night.  Its a pretty basic HDB flat in the center of Clementi.  Nothing spectacular, but I'll be adding some amenities and a cable modem line as soon as I have a few hours to go shopping for a provider.  I promised pics to y'all, but they're on hold until I get my internet connect up and running.  I have computer access from work, but I can't install software on the machine that doesn't have anything to do with my research.  *sigh*.  That means I can't get pics from my camera to the computer just yet.  Don't worry, they'll be up soon!  Bye for now..
